What do our windows mean? Part 12

The last in a series of articles about our Kempe windows written by Brian Willett.
This rounds off the series by talking about some of the other, non Kempe glass in all Saints:

There are two other stained glass windows in the church which are not Kempe designs but are nevertheless colourful and rewarding to study. Both are narrative in design and plan and tell familiar stories.

In the chancel:

This tells the story of Abraham and Isaac. Here we see Abraham and his son travelling together to the mountain to make sacrifice. We see Isaac prepared for sacrifice, but the angel of the Lord stills Abraham’s hand, the lamb is discovered in the thicket and Isaac is saved. Abraham’s devotion to God is proven.

In the Good Samaritan Room:

The Samaritan window. This large and colourful window can be seen at very close hand. It tells the well-known parable of the Good Samaritan, of the man who fell among thieves and whose life was saved by the man from Samaria. It should be noted that the Biblical reference is incorrect. Brian Willett
